Joshua Imeri-Garcia is an accomplished legal professional specializing in public law matters. Based in the Los Angeles office, he serves as an Associate with a diverse portfolio encompassing the preparation and interpretation of resolutions, ordinances, policies, contracts, land-use and zoning regulations, CEQA, the Brown Act, Public Records Act, Political Reform Act, and anti-camping policies. His expertise extends to providing strategic counsel to planning commissions and city staff on a wide range of public law issues.

In his capacity as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Lompoc, and Deputy City Attorney for the City of Rancho Palos Verdes Josh plays a pivotal role in overseeing legal affairs and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks. Beyond Lompoc and Rancho Palos Verdes, he extends his advice to cities like Carson, Glendora, and Hesperia, offering valuable insights and solutions to navigate complex legal challenges effectively.

Josh's litigation practice is distinguished by his focus on high-profile Federal and State matters, such as section 1983 claims, CEQA disputes, excessive force allegations, takings, due process issues, dangerous conditions of public property, nuisance abatements, and real estate disputes. He has also co-authored and submitted Amicus Curiae briefs to the United States Supreme Court on behalf of multiple California cities, highlighting his dedication to influencing legal precedents at the highest level.

Admitted to practice before the United States Central District and Eastern District of California, Josh is well-versed in handling federal matters and representing clients effectively in federal and state courts. His extensive government experience spans over five years, during which he collaborated with elected officials and governmental bodies at various levels, including federal agencies, state agencies, the Franchise Tax Board, air quality management districts, and southern California counties.

In addition to his legal practice, Josh is an active member of his Firm's Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee (“DEI”), working towards creating a more inclusive environment within the legal profession. He also dedicates his time to mentoring students from his Alma Mater and the Legal Education Access Pipeline (LEAP) who are interested in pursuing careers in law.
