Anthony R. Taylor is an equity partner of the Firm. Mr. Taylor previously served as the co-chair of the Firm’s litigation group and as general counsel to the Firm.
Mr. Taylor’s litigation experience includes arguing matters before the California Supreme Court, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and California Court of Appeal, including numerous published decisions since 2001. Additionally, Mr. Taylor has handled numerous jury and bench trials.
Mr. Taylor has handled business litigation matters, including prevailing in a four-week jury trial for the defense of a hotel in a multi-million dollar real estate dispute.
Mr. Taylor has handled plaintiff professional negligence matters and he has obtained multi-million dollar recoveries.

Watts v. City of Newport Beach (2019) Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, Case No. 18-55833 (holding that qualified immunity barred a civil rights claim for excessive force against police officers in a federal civil rights lawsuit)
Risdana v. Tejpaul et al. (2016) Orange County Superior Court, Case No. 30-2013- 0064667 (as first chair defense counsel, obtained a defense verdict following a four week jury trial in favor of client, a hotel in Laguna Beach)
Advincula v. City of Hesperia (2008) Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District Case No. E044675 (holding plaintiff could not establish a probability of prevailing on her civil rights claims for city code enforcement actions and dismissing her lawsuit under the anti-SLAPP statute)
Carson Coalition for Healthy Families v. City of Carson (2007) Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District Case No. B194923 (rejecting CEQA challenge and upholding City’s EIR for a 168-acre mixed use development project)
Serrato v. City of Carson (2007) Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District Case No. B188849 (holding anti-SLAPP statute applied to City's personnel investigation involving plaintiff and affirming dismissal of lawsuit against city and its employees)
Rand v. Carson Redevelopment Agency et al. (2005) US District Court, Central District Case No. CV 03-1913 GPS (as trial counsel for city, obtained court ruling during three week jury trial excluding plaintiff developer's alleged lost profits of $200 Million in damages based on equal protection claim by developer)
Illingsworth v. City of Cypress (2003) Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District Case No. G031280 (holding plaintiff's claims for defamation against a city employee are barred by the anti-SLAPP statute)
Mr. Taylor was named a 2015 California Lawyer Magazine Attorney of the Year in the category of Municipal Law (along with Founding Partner, David Aleshire of the Firm).
Mr. Taylor currently serves as a board member of the Beckman High School Lacrosse Booster Board.
