September 12, 2012 -- The City Council for the City of Fillmore has approved a contract with Aleshire & Wynder, LLP pursuant to which partner Tiffany Israel will serve as the new City Attorney for Fillmore. The City Attorney acts as general counsel in the operation of city government. Lindsay Tabaian has been designated to serve as the Assistant City Attorney.
Ms. Israel was selected by the City Council after a request for proposals process which included interviews by the City Council and second interviews by a Council Subcommittee. Ms. Israel is also the City Attorney for the City of Lawndale. Having practiced municipal law for 15 years, Ms. Israel specializes in land use, public contracts, housing and development, and other areas of public law.
The City of Fillmore, which is located in the Santa Clara River Valley in Northern Ventura County, was incorporated in 1888 and is currently home to just more than 15,000 residents. Fillmore’s motto is "the last, best small town in Southern California" and its historic train depot is the location for the annual Fillmore Railroad Days.
