January 6, 2017 -- Attorneys Christine Carson and Christopher Neumeyer of Aleshire & Wynder will address the topic, “Managing the Legally Savvy Marijuana User in the Era of Props. 64 and 215,” on January 19, 2017. This will be presented by the Southern California Public Labor Relations Council at the Cerritos Public Library.

In a presentation entitled “Expert Witness Preparation: How to Put Your Witness’s Best Foot Forward,” June and a co-presenter will discuss achieving the best possible presentation of appraisal testimony in an eminent domain trial.
November 10, 2015 -- On December 3, 2015, Elena Q. Gerli will be a presenter at the County Counsels’ Association of California Land Use Fall 2015 Study Section Conference in Sacramento, CA. Elena will discuss the complexities of navigating state and federal fair housing laws in the context of sober living home regulations.
Elena is currently Assistant City Attorney in the City of Carson. She regularly advises her clients on zoning and land use, ordinance drafting, First Amendment, constitutional law, fair housing and group home regulation, and guiding local governments through complex quality of life issues such as homelessness and public nuisance abatement. November 2, 2015 -- On November 6, 2015, Pam K. Lee will be a panelist at the Annual National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) Conference in New Orleans, Lousiana. In a presentation entitled “Lessons from Detroit: Advising Municipalities in Distress,” Pam will discuss ways to avoid municipal bankruptcy and draw from her experiences in advising public agency clients on cost-saving measures, revenue sources, and sound fiscal policies. Joining her on the panel are other city attorneys and municipal bankruptcy specialists from around the country.
September 17, 2015 -- On September 22, attorneys Anita Luck and Lutfi Kharuf will be presenting at the California Special Districts Association’s annual conference. In a presentation entitled “Smooth Sailing: Navigating Audits from the State and Federal Government,” Anita and Lutfi will draw from experience with the IRS, SEC and State Controller’s Office to provide guidance to California special districts on avoiding and preparing for audits, and tips and strategies when audits arrive.
