On September 29, 2016, Colin J. Tanner and Christina M. Burrows are scheduled speakers at the PELRAC Training Conference (Public Employer Labor Relations Association of California).
This session is designed for those new to the collective bargaining process, and those who may want a refresher on the basics. The presentation will give participants a better understanding of the basic principles and practices of collective bargaining and tools of the trade to assist in labor negotiation preparation and organization along with negotiation action plans, as well as building the management and union relationship.
PELRAC’s 7th Annual Conference will take place in San Diego at the Handlery Hotel, 950 Hotel Circle North from September 27-29. Colin and Christina are on the agenda on Thursday, September 29 from 11:00 am – 12:15 pm.
Colin Tanner is a founding partner of the law firm of Aleshire & Wynder, chair of the firm's Labor & Employment Practice Group, chair of the firm's Personnel Committee, and co-chair of the firm's Litigation Practice Group. In these capacities, Mr. Tanner advises the firm’s clients regarding their labor and employment practices as well as defends and/or prosecutes litigation claims on their behalf. He also practices in the areas of preventive liability, insurance coverage, and business litigation for the firm’s public and private sector clients.
Christina Burrows is an associate specializing in labor and employment, litigation, municipal government, and code enforcement. Ms. Burrows regularly advises cities and other public agency clients on issues involving the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, the Public Employment Relations Board, DFEH, EEOC, California Public Records Act, Brown Act, and risk management matters. In addition, Ms. Burrows has managed litigation involving municipal tort liability and employment claims.
