March 4, 2016 -- On March 16, 2016, Colin J. Tanner and Christina M. Burrows will present at the Public Employer Labor Relations Association of California’s Mini Summit, “Preparing for Negotiations.” This workshop is designed for those new to the collective bargaining process - and those who may want a refresher on the basics. The presentation will give participants a better understanding of the basic principles and practices of collective bargaining and tools of the trade to assist in labor negotiation preparation and organization along with negotiation action plans as well as building the management and union relationship.

Colin J. Tanner is a founding partner of the Firm, Chair of the Firm's Labor & Employment Practice Group, Chair of the Firm's Personnel Committee, and Co-Chair of the Firm's Litigation Practice Group. In these capacities, Mr. Tanner advises the Firm’s clients regarding their labor and employment practices as well as defends and/or prosecutes litigation claims on their behalf. He also practices in the areas of preventive liability, insurance coverage, and business litigation for the Firm’s public and private sector clients.
Christina Burrows is an associate specializing in labor and employment, litigation, municipal government, and code enforcement. Ms. Burrows regularly advises cities and other public agency clients on issues involving the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, the Public Employment Relations Board, DFEH, EEOC, California Public Records Act, Brown Act, and risk management matters. In addition, Ms. Burrows has managed litigation involving municipal tort liability and employment claims.
