Ms. Israel is a partner of the Firm. As the City Attorney for the City of Lawndale, Ms. Israel serves as legal counsel to the Lawndale City Council and the Lawndale Planning Commission, as well as General Counsel to the Lawndale Redevelopment Agency, the Lawndale Housing Authority and the Lawndale Cable Usage Corporation. Ms. Israel also serves as Assistant Agency Counsel to Hesperia Community Redevelopment Agency and Lynwood Redevelopment Agency. Ms. Israel has previously served as the Assistant City Attorney for Palm Springs and Lawndale.

Focusing on municipal law, Ms. Israel advises public agencies on a range of issues including land use, planning, redevelopment, CEQA, First Amendment questions, franchises, public contracting issues, compliance with the Public Records Act and Brown Act, and conflict of interest laws. Ms. Israel also devotes a substantial amount of time negotiating real estate and redevelopment transactions, including drafting agreements for property acquisition and the development of commercial, industrial and housing projects.  Representative projects include senior housing projects, hotel developments, auto dealerships, large commercial projects as well as projects for industrial and manufacturing uses.

Before joining the Firm, Ms. Israel spent six years advising cities, police departments, school districts and water districts on various matters including Government Tort Claims litigation, civil rights litigation, property acquisition, land use, environmental compliance, school fees, the formation of community facility districts and construction and breach of contract litigation. Ms. Israel also has substantial litigation experience, including extensive law and motion work, in both state and federal courts and administrative proceedings.

Ms. Israel received her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law after graduating cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Southern California. Ms. Israel is admitted to the State Bar of California and U.S. District Court, Central District of California.
