Mrs. Konigar-Macklin is a Partner and specializes in the representation of public school districts and other educational and public entities. She has served as special counsel in several districts, general counsel for both the Pomona Unified School District and the Inglewood Unified School District, and legal division leader for the Los Angeles Unified School District responsible for supervising the provision legal services to over 1100 schools and various offices within the organization.

Mrs. Konigar-Macklin provides legal and administrative advice on a wide array of education related issues facing school districts and public agencies including conflicts of interest, special education, inter-agency agreements, territory transfers, employee evaluation and discipline, charter schools, internal policies, agency organization, special education, legislation, and merit system operation. School districts often find the combination of her in-house and private sector legal experience especially useful when receiving advice, developing internal policies and addressing cost containment issues.  She has negotiated several multimillion dollar settlement agreements on behalf of school districts.

She has represented school districts before the Office of Civil Rights, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Public Employment Relations Board, in both state and federal courts and in other dispute resolution forums. She also serves as a mediator and is regularly called upon to serve as a hearing officer for school districts in southern California.

Mrs. Konigar-Macklin is counsel to the California Association of African American School Superintendents and Administrators (CAAASA) and panel counsel for the Association of California School Administrators. She is currently a school board member in the Pomona Unified School District.

Major accomplishments during her career include the negotiation of a $118 million dollar settlement on behalf of Inglewood USD with the Federal Aviation Administration, Los Angeles World Airports and the City of Los Angeles for noise mitigation, and the restructuring and implementation of the largest special education lawsuit in the State of California on behalf of the LAUSD. She has been a speaker and has authored articles on school law.  

Mrs. Konigar-Macklin is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine and Hastings College of the Law.
