As an Associate of the Firm, Ms. Lee handles a wide array of legal issues from environmental law to employee matters. As a city prosecutor, Ms. Lee is in charge of code enforcement activities, working with law enforcement and the judicial system to ensure compliance with the city’s municipal code. Ms. Lee regularly reviews contracts and advises her clients on various contractual matters, and provides legal advice on Public Records Act issues.
Ms. Lee’s focus also includes environmental law. She has experience in defending CEQA matters as well as challenging agencies for CEQA non-compliance. She provides legal analysis in toxic torts, including landfill and underground storage tank remediation.
Ms. Lee’s litigation experience includes defending a multi-million dollar inverse condemnation claim and various constitutional rights claims. Ms. Lee has handled risk management and police matters and provided legal advice regarding employees’ rights. Ms. Lee has experience in both State and Federal courts.
Ms. Lee graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from UCLA in 2002 with a double major in Economics and Development Studies. She was actively involved in speech and debate and was the Undersecretary-General for College Relations for UCLA’s Model United Nations. As an undergraduate she worked at a redevelopment consulting organization associated with the Los Angeles City Mayor’s Office that remediated 21 brownfield sites in Los Angeles. After completion of her undergraduate work, Ms. Lee received an internship in the Legal Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Thailand.
Ms. Lee attended law school at the University of Southern California, where she earned her J.D. in 2006 and was the recipient of the Carl M. Franklin Award for International Law. While in law school, Ms. Lee co-founded Alliance for Life and was actively involved in the Asian-Pacific American Law Society. During her summers, she was an associate at an international law firm where she advised clients on commercial law. She also volunteered as a dispute mediator at the Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center and facilitated settlements out of court.
Ms. Lee is a member of the Environment, Energy and Resources and State and Local Government Sections of the American Bar Association, as well as the Los Angeles County Bar Association. She is fluent in Thai and conversational in Spanish.
